Student Laboratory Assistant

Grand Forks, ND or Minnetonka, MN

The function of this job is to perform sample preparation, testing, and analysis. The work involves logging and tracking of samples, performing sample preparation for chemical and physical testing, conducting analysis/testing using high temperature equipment, and assisting in the analysis of materials with an automated scanning electron microscope equipped with a x-ray microanalysis system. These activities support the efforts of scientists and engineers conducting energy and materials related projects for companies worldwide.

The job requires coursework or experience associated with general laboratory procedures. Good mechanical skills are required. Must be computer literate with good communication and time management skills.

This job is a part-time position (20 hours per week during the school year and full-time during the summer months).
